Road Blog: Barack in Flint, Michigan

You don't have to go far in Flint to find out what's going on. This country is struggling economically.

The numbers don't look good. Unemployment in America is hovering around six percent, eight percent if you live in Michigan and 12 percent if you live here in Flint.

Jon Terbrush is one of the unlucky. After devoting himself to American Axle for 12 years, he took a buyout when the corporation made the decision to downsize. Jon has had the foresight to use that money to go back to school at the Mott Community College in the Automotive Technology program, balancing a full 16 credit school load with supporting his family. Jon supports Barack because he believes that an Obama Administration would reward his quest for further education by bringing the jobs of the future to places like Michigan. He worries that four more years of the same economic policies may render his forward-thinking decision useless.

Barack shares Jon's belief that change is necessary. Barack took some time this morning in Flint to define what "change" means to him versus what it means to John McCain:
